The Prepirineo in Lleida is a set of mountain ranges, basically formed by limestone in the Mesozoic, so we have become a place for fossils lovers. When dinosaurs roamed Prepirineo they left their footprints as rock formations, traces can now be followed at the site of Coll de Nargó in Alt Urgell, in the valley of the Noguera Ariete and the site of La Posa, in Pallars Jussà.
The landscape changes dramatically from Prepirineo when reaching the plain, watered by the Canal d’Urgell, and basically farmland. The Valley of Ager is the link between the mountains and the plain.
Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees are a priceless jewel, shelter and cradle of the fauna and flora of Catalonia.
