Forests, meadows and mountains of the Pyrenees of Lleida hide large number of mushrooms, which are discovered by amateur collectors and experts. The latter keep secret of where best mushrooms grow, to better fill their baskets every fall.
Chanterelles, bold, strains, senderuelas, mushrooms are born in different regions of the lands of Lleida, especially in Val d’Aran, L’Alt Urgell, Alta Ribagorça, Pallars Jussà i Sobirà, La Segarra and Solsonès. In the plain of Solsona, for example, you can find much Llanega black. While in high areas, as San Lorenzo, about 1,000 meters above sea level, the variety Llanega white grows. It is said that when a forest at different heights is a good place to fill the basket.
